Hybrid Aria V by Jessica Hall. The annual Alpha meet always felt like a formality, especially since Ryker and I were still a year away from officially taking over the Black Moon Pack. Aunt Lily and Uncle Damian represented the Crescent Pack, while my older sister Lana and her mates Tate and Drake attended from the Forest Pack. My other sister Arial and her mate Chase came from the Red River Pack. Of course, Mother, the former Alpha Queen, was there too. Alongside us were Alpha Jamie and his Luna from Black Creek Pack, along with representatives from two other packs whose names currently eluded me.

The majority of the packs were governed by our family, making it rather pointless for the other three packs to argue. Nobody wanted to anger the Hybrid wolf packs, and certainly not my brother Ryker, the Alpha king.

As the meeting droned on, I let my mind wander. The intricate dynamics of our world fascinated me, each pack with its own unique traditions and rules, yet all connected by the same moon above. It was a reminder of the responsibility that awaited me and Ryker, a responsibility we were eager to embrace.

Ace’s nudge brought me back to reality. He gestured discreetly toward the Luna of Black Creek Pack, engrossed in a serious discussion with one of the other Alphas. Her unwavering demeanor and strength of character caught my attention, a trait I admired and hoped to embody in my own leadership.

With Ryker and I poised to lead our pack soon, I felt a surge of determination. I was determined to honor our family’s legacy and lead our pack with strength, unity, and compassion.
