Jin, a perpetual resident of his childhood bedroom at the ripe age of 24, was the embodiment of misfortune. Jobless, heartbroken after his high school sweetheart left him for his best friend, and perpetually harassed by a local gang, his life was a monotonous cycle of defeat. To top it all off, his father, having struck it rich in the lottery, had abandoned him and his mother for a “debt-free” life with a new family. His mother, a beacon of strength, held down a staggering three jobs just to keep their world from collapsing.

One fateful day, on his way home clutching the much-anticipated first copy of “Realm of Myths and Legends” (RML), the world’s first truly immersive VRMMORPG, Jin’s life took a dramatic, albeit terminal, turn. A hit-and-run accident ended his struggles, but fate, it seemed, wasn’t quite done with him.
